Jesus enters Jericho and meets Zacchaeus, a wealthy tax collector who was hated, corrupt, and far from God. But one encounter with Jesus changes everything. In Luke 19:1–10, we see what happens when Jesus calls a sinner by name, offers him friendship, and brings about genuine salvation. Zacchaeus doesn’t simply receive forgiveness - his heart changes, his priorities change, and his actions begin to change. His story shows us that grace and justice aren't enemies: grace produces repentance, and a changed heart produces a changed life. The Gospel isn't about cleaning yourself up so Jesus will accept you; it's about meeting Jesus, receiving His grace, and letting Him transform you from the inside out. Jesus still calls sinners by name, still invites us into friendship with Him, and still changes lives today.
