Summary

Holiness Defined

The speaker discusses the meaning of holiness, emphasizing that God is unique and incomparable. From scriptural references, holiness is defined as being set apart, not just about behavior but also involving the heart. The challenge lies in misunderstanding holiness as a judgment or feeling of inadequacy.

The Purpose of Holiness

Holiness serves two main purposes: worship and witness. Living a holy life is seen as an act of worship towards God, aligning with His design for our lives. Furthermore, holiness is a form of witness to the world, clarifying who God is through our actions.

Practicing Holiness

The process of becoming more holy is detailed in three steps: acknowledging that the journey is difficult, recognizing that holiness transcends mere behavior, and understanding that deep thought concerning God is essential. The speaker calls for a meditative approach to thinking about God and engaging with scripture.

The Call to Rise Up

The message culminates in the call for the church to 'arise' and embody holiness, inspiring the outside world to seek understanding and clarity about God through their actions. This includes a reflection on personal actions, church community dynamics, and the importance of intimacy with God.
