Hour 1 - Sports Chairs & MLB's Luck

The podcast kicks off with hosts Kavino and Rich discussing the significance of their favorite sports chairs and the unspoken rules that come with them. Over the years, they delve into the quirks of watching sports at home or in gatherings, where everyone has their designated ‘spot’. The light-hearted banter includes an amusing anecdote about one of the team members daring to sit in an occupied seat during a holiday dinner, which led to laughter and contemplation about seating etiquette.

Kavino and Rich celebrate MLB's successes including the recent Little League Classic where there was a beautiful interaction between young fans and big league stars. They reflect on how well Major League Baseball is performing lately, including innovative initiatives like the pitch clock and city connect jerseys, which contribute to the sport's rising popularity. However, amid the celebratory tone lies a cautionary tale about MLB's future steps, particularly about expansion and realignment as discussed by commissioner Rob Manfred. They emphasize the need to preserve the character of the game while considering potential changes.

Switching gears to the NFL, the hosts address Joe Flacco being named the starting quarterback for the Browns. They discuss how this affects the ongoing quarterback drama within the team and how it sets the tone for the upcoming season. They share their thoughts on the team's strategy moving forward and how fans should manage their expectations given Flacco's history. The discussion touches on the importance of plays and decisions made by seasoned quarterbacks compared to rookies.
