Summary

Introduction to the Series: Prepare for Rain

Pastor Chris Zauner introduces the new sermon series, "Prepare for Rain," encouraging the congregation to anticipate God’s provision by taking proactive steps in faith. He shares an illustration from the movie 'Facing the Giants' that emphasizes the need to prepare for rain even when it seems far away. The focus is on trusting God's vision and getting ready to receive His blessings through obedience and action.

The Nature of Faith

The sermon centers on the understanding that faith must be accompanied by action. Pastor Chris references James 2 to underline that faith without deeds is dead, using relatable examples to illustrate how belief must translate into tangible actions. He challenges the audience to consider where they can move from merely intellectual belief to active faith, emphasizing that genuine faith anticipates God's provision and requires preparation.

Obedience and Preparation

Pastor Chris highlights the importance of obedience in preparing for God's provision. He draws parallels between biblical figures who obeyed God's commands and the blessings that followed their actions. The message stresses that true belief leads to meaningful preparation, urging the congregation not to delay obedience and to engage in faith-filled actions.

A Call to Action: Capital Campaign for Future Home

The pastor reveals a church-wide initiative to prepare for a future home through a capital campaign aimed at raising $100,000 over the next year. This initiative is framed as a spiritual endeavor, not just a financial one, encouraging collective participation from the congregation in preparation for the blessings God intends to provide.

Conclusion and Encouragement to Live in Faith

In closing, Pastor Chris reinforces the call to act in faith now rather than waiting for signs. He encourages the church community to reflect on how they can collectively and individually prepare for the 'rain' God is bringing into their lives and to remain active in their faith through the upcoming series.
